We met on a warm, sunny afternoon in the heart of the city and began the session in Jardines de Monforte. Tucked away behind the old town, this is one of Valencia’s most charming and peaceful gardens. It’s a favorite of mine for maternity, couples, and family photography because of its elegance and timeless character. The garden features neoclassical statues, still fountains, arched trellises covered in ivy, and carefully trimmed hedges that create a sense of intimacy and calm.
The atmosphere in Monforte is serene and romantic, especially in the late afternoon when the light becomes golden and soft. This natural light wraps beautifully around the garden’s textures and gives every image a warm, timeless look. Portia and Mike walked slowly through the paths, stopping under vine-covered arches, sitting on marble steps, and enjoying a quiet moment together in the stillness of the garden. From there, we continued to Jardines del Real, also known as Viveros Gardens. This park is one of the largest and most vibrant green spaces in Valencia. Unlike Monforte, which feels more classical and structured, Viveros has a much more open and natural energy. With its wide gravel walkways, tall trees, flowering shrubs, and scattered stone fountains, it gave us plenty of space to move freely and capture a more candid, playful side of the session.
The change in scenery brought a noticeable shift in mood. In Viveros, Portia and Mike felt relaxed and playful. They laughed as they walked through the tree-lined paths, stopped to admire the blooming bougainvillea, and shared a few quiet conversations along the way. It added variety and spontaneity to their gallery while keeping everything within walking distance.
